Your wedding day in Mossel Bay
Make the greatest day of your life even greater – in the greatest town of your life.
...And with its wide selection of venues, and any number of fine caterers, photographers, videographers - and the right people to make the perfect dress – Mossel Bay is really well geared to making good on this promise.
For brides, though, it’s often all about the dress - and Mossel Bay has a secret to share: the Miss Garden Route and Klein Karoo pageant
One of the most exciting things about this competition - presented by the Garden Route Casino on the last weekend of September to coincide with South Africa’s national Tourism Month – is the fact that it serves as an annual showcase for the amazing talents of dress designers from the region.
And it’s worth attending for the fashion as much as to celebrate the competition’s social agenda: support for the work of shelters for women and children in Oudtshoorn, Mossel Bay, George, and Knysna.
The designers who dress the contestants work to a different theme each year: ‘Phantom of the Opera’ in 2012, ‘A Tribute to Deon Oelofse’ in 2013 (Deon won the design award at the first Miss Garden Route and Klein Karoo pageant in 2003) – so you might not necessarily see any wedding dresses on the catwalk if you’re in the audience this year. But you will get a very good idea of the breadth and depth of the talent in this part of the country - so you’re bound to find the one person who’ll make you shine.
And let’s not forget that Mossel Bay offers a wide selection of romantic hideaways – so whether you’re planning a local wedding, or you’ve decided to marry elsewhere and then come here for your honeymoon (although why you’d do *that* is beyond us...), you can rest assured that Mossel Bay is the logical choice.
Please watch the calendar on www.visitmosselbay.co.za for the date of the next Miss Garden Route & Klein Karoo pageant.
